The New Jersey Devils have announced that they have signed defenseman Ethan Edwards to a two-year entry-level contract, which will begin during the 2025-26 season. In addition, the Devils also shared that Edwards will play for the Utica Comets for the remainder of this season on an AHL contract.

Edwards, 22, was selected by the Devils with the 120th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 5-foot-11 defenseman completed his four-year collegiate career with the University of Michigan this season.

Edwards appeared in 36 games this season with Michigan, where he set new collegiate career highs with five goals, 16 assists, and 21 points. In 130 games with the school over four seasons, he posted 15 goals, 41 assists, 56 points, and a plus-17 rating.

Getting Edwards signed to his entry-level deal is good news for the Devils. The left-shot defenseman will now provide the Devils with another solid prospect to watch in the AHL. It will be intriguing to see how much of an impact he makes with the Devils in the future from here.
