The New Jersey Devils moved on from former assistant coaches Ryan McGill and Chris Taylor earlier this month, and it appears that they have now found one of their replacements.

According to The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta, the Devils are hiring Brad Shaw to join their coaching staff.

Shaw, 61, served as the Philadelphia Flyers' interim head coach for the final portion of the 2024-25 season after they fired John Tortorella. Before that, he was an associate coach of the Flyers since the 2022-23 campaign. Shaw's time with the Flyers ended earlier this month after Philadelphia hired Rick Tocchet to be their next head coach.

The Devils reportedly bringing in Shaw is entirely understandable. He possesses plenty of coaching experience and should be a great addition to New Jersey head coach Sheldon Keefe's staff. Furthermore, he is well-known for having great success at developing defensemen, which is significant when noting that the Devils have multiple young blueliners with high upside in their system.
