Before the 2025 NHL trade deadline passed, the New Jersey Devils acquired forward Cody Glass from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a 2027 third-round pick, Chase Stillman, and the signing rights to prospect Max Graham.
With the Devils needing more depth, it was understandable that they brought in Glass. While this was a smaller move made on deadline day, Glass has undoubtedly made an immediate impact in New Jersey. In his first seven games with the Devils, Glass has two goals, six points, and a plus-6 rating. This includes an assist in the Devils' last contest against the Ottawa Senators.
While Glass is still in the beginning stages of his Devils tenure, there is no question that he is fitting in beautifully. With this, it is fair to wonder if the Devils could want to keep Glass around beyond this season.
Glass is a pending restricted free agent, so he will remain under team control if he does not have his next contract finalized by July 1. However, with how well he is playing, do you think the Devils should work now to get him extended? Vote in the poll above to let your thoughts be known.
