The NHL announced the 2023-24 GM of the Year winner, and Philadelphia Flyers GM received one first-place vote.

Dallas Stars GM Jim Nill won for the second consecutive season.

With one first-place vote worth five points, Briere finished 10th in the rankings.

Briere orchestrated what many view as one of the most successful trade deadlines for his team. Despite being in a playoff race, the Flyers traded key d-man, Sean Walker. Keith Jones told reporters that he felt the team was playoff-bound if that move didn't happen, but the team kept the rebuild front of mind.

Briere also made moves to acquire draft capital with significant value.

Since taking over in 2023, the Flyers have built a high-end pool of prospects through the draft, including Matvei Michkov. He's started to build a culture of winning that is resonating across all areas of the organization.
