The Philadelphia Flyers will hold a press conference on Saturday to announce a partnership with the University of Delaware. The Flyers will support the development of the first-ever NCAA Div. 1 Women's team in school history.

The growth of women's hockey has been tremendous this year. The addition of the PWHL, with teams in New York, Toronto, Minnesota, Ottawa, Boston, and Montreal, has been a significant moment in women's hockey history.

Should they expand, Philadelphia could be an option, given the location of the other teams.

The Flyers became the first team in NHL history to do this, and other NHL teams could follow in their footsteps as women's hockey continues to grow in North America.
