Renowned Flyers' mascot Gritty had his own game at the Flyers' outdoor practice yesterday!

"I have just witnessed sports history," said ESPNs Greg Wyshynski on X.
Gritty, the famed Philadelphia Flyers mascot, was seen in a video on X throwing what appeared to be a large, red dart toy into a large "Red Solo Cup."
He and fellow mascot, NJ Devil, were throwing them from increasingly farther distances in the stands at MetLife Stadium yesterday, evidently competing for who could throw the farthest shot, and taking turns as throwers.
Neither of them missed a single throw that was seen in the video, including each of their throws from the greatest distance (called 300/100 in difficulty level).
Gritty complimented himself, "best arm this stadiums seen in years", he said on X.
It was posted at 5:46pm yesterday, around the time of the Flyers' practice for today's outdoor, stadium series game against the New Jersey Devils.
An earlier video posted by Wyshynski said Gritty won that battle, and threw a "fooball" into a giant red cup from section 141 of the MetLife Stadium.
Gritty is a seven-foot-tall, googly-eyed creature with a squeaky belly button who can blow smoke out of his ears, and is a relatively new mascot, only introduced on Sep. 24, 2018.
A new addition for this year is "Gritty's Chaos Corner", located in section 122 of the Wells Fargo Center, the Flyers home arena.
Gritty interacts with fans in this section, including spraying silly string at them, throwing popcorn around, and "caking wars." He also starts fan chants.

According to the NHL, Gritty is known for his "uniquely Philadelphian personality."
He is known for his unusual behaviour that some may say crosses the line.
"Gritty's edgy personality and temperamental attitude have allowed him to push the envelope of what is possible or acceptable for a team mascot," the NHLs Philadelphia Flyers website says.
His other behaviour includes tackling two fans sumo wrestling during an intermission game, and then playfully kicking one of them from behind as they walked off the ice.
