According to reports, the Philadelphia Flyers have signed goalie Ivan Fedotov to a two-year contract extension.
The 27-year-old made his long-awaited Flyers debut this season after he was drafted in 2015. He joined the team late in the season and was forced into action sooner than expected.
In three appearances, Fedotov made 43 saves on 53 shots. His first career save was memorable, as he robbed New York Islanders forward Mathew Barzal on a breakaway.
The Flyers have yet to announce the signing officially, but Elliotte Friedman reported earlier that the announcement could be made any day.
The Flyers' goalie situation has been in flux since Carter Hart took a leave of absence due to the 2018 WJC Scandal. Fedotov and Sam Ersson will likely start the next season as the team's top two netminders.
