More names have been added to the Kyle Dubas' front office with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
As the 2023-24 season creeps into view, the Pittsburgh Penguins had added a few names to their front office staff.
The Penguins have announced the hires of Mark Osiecki and Matt Lorito as professional scouts, Robbie Sandland and Brandon DeFazio as amateur scouts, and Cam Charron as a hockey research and development analyst.
Osiecki has spent nearly 30 years as a hockey coach at various levels, including the AHL, USHL, and the college level.
On multiple occasions, Osiecki has also been a part of the United States World Junior Championship coaching staff.
Team USA brought home gold during two of those tournaments (2010, 2013) and bronze in 2011.
Oslecki will scout professional organizations around the mid-western United States.
Lorito joins the Penguins after spending nine years as professional hockey player in both North America and Europe.
As a member of the Detroit Red Wings organization, Lorito suited up for a pair of NHL games during the 2016-17 season and recorded an assist.
While at the AHL level, Lorito recorded 244 points in 340 career games.
Lorito will also focus on professional teams in the United States’ mid-west region.
Sanland spent the last four years as director of player personnel with the Kamloops Blazers of the WHL and assistant general manager in 2022-23.
His focus will be scouting amateut players around the United States’ Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.
DeFazio also had an extensive professional hockey career that landed him in the NHL for a pair of games.
During the 2014-15 season, DeFazio played two games with the Vancouver Canucks.
DeFazio will focus his scouting on amateur teams in Canada’s Ontario province.
Charron joins the Penguins after eight seasons with Kyle Dubas and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It was noticed that Charron was hired by the Penguins earlier in the summer, but this comes as the official announcement.
