The San Jose Sharks (18-50-8) will be without Klim Kostin against the Arizona Coyotes (32-9-5) in tonight's matchup. William Eklund will replace him alongside Mikael Granlund and Fabian Zetterlund.
Mackenzie Blackwood will start tonight after Devin Cooley earned his first NHL win against the St. Louis Blues yesterday. Ryan Carpenter comes into the lineup with Kostin out for an illness.
Yesterday's game brought so many emotions to fans, players, and players' families, but the Sharks can't ride that high for too long as they take on the offensively talented Coyotes. Clayton Keller is the team's leading scorer with 71 points.
"I've watched him quite a bit. He's been an elite player at every level he's been at," Sharks coach David Quinn said about Keller. "You're talking about a guy who isn't very big but certainly overcomes it with his tenacity and his competitiveness. He's got just a world-class motor and a world-class brain, and he's got a great skill set."
Sharks projected lineup:
Eklund-Granlund-Zetterlund
Bailey-Kunin-Graf
Bordeleau-Studnicka-Zadina
Carpenter-Sturm-MacDonald
Ferraro-Rutta
Vlasic-Addison
Thrun-Burroughs
Blackwood
Cooley
