The San Jose Barracuda have traded forward Jordy Bellerive to the Syracuse Crunch for Joe Carroll.

This is the second time Bellerive has been traded this season. He was acquired from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms earlier in the season.

For the Barracuda, Bellerive played 18 games and had two goals and five assists.

Carroll is a 23-year-old left-winger who can bring size to the Barracuda lineup.

In 46 games with the Crunch this season, he has 11 goals and 11 assists.

He has a bomb of a one-timer from the right circle. With Thomas Bordeleau in the NHL, the trigger spot on the powerplay has been left open with nobody to fill it.

While the Barracuda's playoff chances remain slim, providing a boost of offense can only help their chances.

Today was the AHL's trade deadline.
