The San Jose Sharks announce that they have acquired Klim Kostin from the Detroit Red Wings and sent Radim Simek and the New Jersey Devils 2024 7th-round pick in return.

Kostin is 24 years old and has played 33 games this season, tallying three goals and one assist. He has played for the St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers. In 136 career NHL games, he has 19 goals and 17 assists.

Kostin is in the first year of a two-year $4 million contract he signed with the Red Wings over the Summer.

The Sharks sent Radim Simek to Detroit, which could be a significant loss for the San Jose Barracuda as he was named captain. He had 16 points in 40 games in the AHL this season.
