Former San Jose Sharks head coach Larry Robinson announced that his grandkids would play for San Jose State University's Club Hockey team.

The Hockey Hall of Famer was an assistant coach for the Sharks from 2012 to 2017. Robinson played 1384 games in the NHL for the Montreal Canadiens and Los Angeles Kings. He is a six-time All-Star and two-time Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's best defenseman.

San Jose State plays in the ACHA's second division in the Pac-8 conference. Last season, the team made a dream run to the Pac-8 championship but fell in overtime to Utah.

The additions of Blake and Brian Brehm will allow the Spartans to have more depth on their roster. The team also announced they've added Antonio Minisci as a goalie.

San Jose State had a full-circle moment by adding Robinson's grandchildren, which should only benefit the program development after a successful season.

If Robinson hangs around the team, he can share some of his championship pedigree; after all, he's won ten Stanley Cups (6 as a player, 4 as a coach).

As always, club hockey is college hockey.
