Before today's practice, the team announced that Scott Sabourin and Andrew Poturalski were placed on waivers to be sent to the San Jose Barracuda and that Colin White had been sent down. White signed an AHL contract on Aug. 13.
Should Poturalski clear waivers, he is expected to be a top contributor for the Barracuda this season. Poturalski has made the AHL's Calder Cup Finals each of the last three seasons with the Coachella Valley Firebirds (2023, 2024) and Chicago Wolves (2022).
He's been to the finals in four of the last six seasons, winning the Calder Cup in 2019 with the Charlotte Checkers and the Wolves in 2022.
Sabourin played 59 games for the Barracuda last season and had 18 goals and nine assists.
White is a former first-round pick of the Ottawa Senators. He scored 41 points for the Sens in 2018-19 but hasn't reached those numbers since. White split time with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens last season.
In 17 NHL games with the Canadiens last season, White failed to register a point and was -3.
The Sharks roster now sits at 34 players.
