Teams around the NHL deal with injuries during training camp, but Sharks head coach Ryan Warsofsky said the team is about to get healthier.

After today's practice, Warsofsky said goaltender Yaroslav Askarov and defenseman Shakir Mukhamadullin are inching closer to joining the team's practices. Along with defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic, the three players haven't participated in training camp since it began in September.

Warsofsky mentioned that Askarov and Mukhamadullin are ahead of Vlasic in their timelines for returning to Sharks practice.

"[Mukhamadullin] is getting close here to probably practicing," Warsofsky said. "As is Askarov. Vlasic is a little further away."

Askarov was GM Mike Grier's big-time offseason trade acquisition from the Nashville Predators. His injury, although minor, has left fans and media starved to see him in practice or a preseason game. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like Askarov and Mukhamadullin will be able to play in either of the final two preseason games.

"It's going to be tough," Warsofsky said. "That's a big if [for them to be able to play Saturday night.]"

Warsofsky said injured No. 1 pick Macklin Celebrini is doing well but won't play tomorrow's preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks. He was also non-committal about whether Celebrini was able to get on the ice today.

    "Day-to-day," Warsofsky said about Celebrini.
