It is no secret that San Jose Sharks forwards Fabian Zetterlund and William Eklund are close.
Zetterlund recently joined former Sharks enforcer John Scott on his Dropping the Gloves podcast, giving more insight into what makes him and Eklund best friends.
The obvious connection is the fact they are both Swedish. Despite the three-year age gap, Zetterlund and Eklund have a connection that few can replicate.
There have been many dynamic duos in the NHL. From Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby to Nicklas Backstrom and Alex Ovechkin, the two budding Sharks stars can create their on-ice bromance.
They didn't start the season on the same line, but there was instant chemistry once former head coach David Quinn put the "Lund" line together of Zetterlund, Eklund, and Mikael Granlund.
Zetterlund has spent his offseason working out and getting stronger. On Sportsnet's 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman recently spoke to Eklund and Zetterlund during the NHL's media tour in Prague. Friedman was impressed with the duo's mentality regarding the Sharks' future.
"Both really impressive kids," Friedman said about his conversation with the duo. "They talked about being part of the team when it got better. With everything that happened last year, they told me, and especially Zetterlund, they were like, forget about the losses. Let's worry about being better so we can be part of the change."
The 24-25 season will be a year of growth for the Sharks, and it arguably starts with Zettelrund and Eklund building off their promising 23-24 season.
