The St. Louis Blues had a strong 2024-25 season, as they finished the year with a 44-30-8 record and got back into the playoffs for the first time since 2022. With this, the Blues should now look to improve their roster further this off-season as they look to take another step forward in 2025-26.

When looking at the Blues' current roster, it is clear that they could use some help at the center position. There are some interesting pending unrestricted free agents who can hit the market on July 1, and Vancouver Canucks forward Pius Suter is undoubtedly one of them.

If the Blues signed Suter, he would offer them a clear upgrade at their third-line center spot, which is a need. In addition, due to his strong defensive play, he would provide the Blues another option to use for their penalty kill.

Suter demonstrated this season that he has the ability to be an effective offensive contributor, too. In 81 games with the Canucks in 2024-25, he set new career highs with 25 goals and 46 points in 81 games. With numbers like these, he would give the Blues more depth offensive production and another solid player for their power play.

With the Blues looking to take that next step, bringing in a forward who provides a bit of everything, like Suter, could be worth considering. This is especially so when noting that he is right in his prime at 29 years old.

Overall, at a reasonable price, a player like Suter could be a nice pickup for the Blues. It will be interesting to see if the Blues target him this off-season from here.
