The Lightning should keep this Senators forward on their radar.

It is no secret that the Tampa Bay Lightning would benefit by adding at least one forward to their roster. However, they have a limited amount of cap space, so they will need to go after affordable forwards if they hope to make an upgrade.
When looking around the NHL, one interesting player who the Lightning should have on their radar is Ottawa Senators forward Adam Gaudette.
Gaudette, 28, signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Senators during this past off-season. When Ottawa signed him, the expectation was that he would simply be a depth forward. However, he has shown this season that he can be far more than just that. In his first 19 games this season, the 6-foot-1 forward has an impressive eight goals to go along with an assist.

With Gaudette making the league-minimum salary and putting the puck in the net often, he could be an excellent bargain trade target for the Lightning. This is especially so when noting that he can play right wing, a position where the Lightning could use a boost. In addition, he is capable of playing down the middle, so he could fit nicely in Tampa Bay's top nine if acquired.
The Senators are trending in the wrong direction, as they have an 8-11-1 record and have lost five straight games. If they cannot turn things around and find themselves out of a playoff spot near the deadline, Gaudette would become a prime trade candidate. If he is made available, the Lightning should seriously consider pursuing him.
