Former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Yanni Gourde has been the subject of trade rumors this season. It is only continuing as we inch closer to December, as NHL insider Chris Johnston included the former Bolt in his latest trade board for The Athletic.
Gourde is currently in the final season of his contract, so he undoubtedly could be a popular rental target as the deadline approaches. This is especially so if the Kraken are out of the playoff race by then.
Gourde, 32, will naturally draw the attention of playoff clubs. He notably won the Stanley Cup twice with the Lightning, so he has a lot of post-season experience. In addition, his gritty style of play and solid defensive play add to his appeal.
Yanni GourdeTeams looking for a bottom six should be in the mix for Gourde later this season. A reunion with the Lightning could be great, but his $5,166,667 cap hit would make a potential move quite challenging for the Bolts.
In 20 games this season with Seattle, Gourde has two goals, seven points, 30 hits, and a minus-1 rating.
