The Tampa Bay Lightning have made their first training camp roster cuts of the year.  Jan Golicic, Ethan Hay, Harrison Meneghin, and Kaiden Pitre have all been re-assigned to their junior teams.

Golicic, 18, was selected by the Lightning with the 118th overall pick of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-6 defenseman will once again play this season with the Gatineau Olympiques of the QMJHL. In 65 games with the club last year, he had three goals and 29 points.

Hay, 19, was the Lightning's seventh-round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-1 forward is set to return to the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL. During this past season split between the Flint Firebirds and Spirit, he had 12 goals and 24 points in 67 games.

Meneghin, 20, was selected by the Lightning with the 206th overall pick of this year's draft. He is set to play another season with the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In 2023-24 with the WHL club, he had a 27-20-5 record, a .919 save percentage, and a 2.59 goals-against average.

As for Pitre, he has been sent back to the Firebirds. During this past season with the OHL squad, the 2024 sixth-round pick had 10 goals and 30 points in 35 games.
