New Vancouver Canucks defenceman Derek Forbort kicked off his Da Beauty League season with a 10-5 victory over Team Anderson Group INC. Forbort, who is this year's captain for Team Element, had the secondary assist on the game-winning goal, which New York Islanders defender Dennis Cholowski scored. This is Forbort's third straight year participating in Da Beauty League and the ninth consecutive game in which he has recorded a point.

In the other matchup, Teddy Blueger's Team Walser defeated Team TRIA 15-9. Blueger did not participate in the game but is expected to play later on in the season. Chicago Blackhawks Oliver Moore led Team Walser with three goals and seven points, while former Canucks defenceman Nate Schmidt had two goals for Team TRIA.

Da Beauty League takes place every Wednesday, with two men's games and one women's game. The event is being held at Braemar Arena in Edina, MN, and tickets are available for purchase. The games can be viewed on YouTube and are scheduled for 3:00, 4:15, and 5:15 p.m.
