The Abbotsford Canucks continued to add to their roster Wednesday, signing forwards Lee Lapid and Ben Berard to one-year AHL contract. At the same time, the Canucks brought back a familiar face, re-signing forward Cooper Walker to a one-year AHL contract. All three players are expected to play depth roles for Abbotsford next season while also seeing some time in the ECHL with the Kalamazoo Wings.

After a successful career in the OHL, Walker is entering his second season with the Canucks organization. In 13 games with Abbotsford last season, he had one goal while also recording 13 points in 36 ECHL games. The recently turned 22-year-old also played in three Calder Cup Playoff games this past season, including Game 2 of their second-round series versus the Ontario Reign.

As for Lapid, he joins the Canucks after spending last season in Liiga with SaiPa. Lapid started the season in the ECHL with the Cincinnati Cyclones before moving to Finland, where he recorded two points in 14 games. The 26-year-old has 69 points in 93 ECHL games during his career, as well as five points in 11 playoff games.

Lastly, Berard returns to B.C. after spending last season with the Texas Stars. The Ducan-born winger played for both the Cowichan Valley Capitals and Powell River Kings during his BCHL days, recording 115 points in 135 regular season games. This past season with the Stars, Berard had four points in 30 games while also suiting up for seven games in the playoffs.
