The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Nate Smith to a one-year, two-way contract. Smith, who will turn 26 early next season, had 12 goals and 31 points in 60 games with the Tucson Roadrunners in 2023-24. Smith does have NHL experience, playing 14 games with the Arizona Coyotes between 2021-23.

Smith is a right-shot center who has played 124 games at the AHL level. He was part of Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics, scoring one goal and adding an assist in four games. Smith is projected to play the season with the Abbotsford Canucks and will be a player that gets called up when injuries occur at the NHL level.
