Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports - BREAKING: Canucks Sign Vincent Desharnais To A Two-Year Contract

The Vancouver Canucks announced they have signed defenseman Vincent Desharnais to a two-year contract.

The former Edmonton Oilers defenseman has a cap hit of $2 million. At 6'7, he joins Tyler Myers and recently signed Derek Forbort as big body defensemen. Deharnais will help the Canucks on the penalty kill.

Last season, Desharnais scored one goal and added ten assists in 78 games. He played 16 playoff games and had one assist. The Canucks are restructuring their defense after Nikita Zadorov signed with the Boston Bruins.
