Vancouver Canucks star goalie Thatcher Demko has begun to take shots, according to head coach Rick Tocchet.
Demko has been out since game two of the first-round series against the Nashville Predators. Reports about a timeline for his return suggested he might be available to play by game six or seven against the Edmonton Oilers.
In Frank Seravalli's report, Demko wasn't allowed to drop to his knees to get into his butterfly position. With Tocchet saying that his goalie is taking shots, he's likely been cleared to drop into position.
Arturs Silovs will get his sixth straight start tonight. Silovs has seemingly taken over as the Canucks best option in goal while Demko recovers from his injury.
