Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet hinted at possible lineup changes for game three against the Edmonton Oilers.
Tocchet looks like he's made two changes to his forward lines during morning skate. He's inserted Nils Åman and Linus Karlsson into the line rushes, which are usually good indications of who is playing.
While nothing is confirmed, if Karlsson and Åman play tonight, it will be their first career Stanley Cup Playoff game. Åman has played 111 career NHL games and scored seven goals while adding 16 assists.
Phil Di Giuseppe was not on the ice during the skate, suggesting he won't play either.
Karlsson has played just four career NHL games and hasn't registered a point. Karlsson led the Canucks AHL affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks, in points with 60 (23 goals, 37 assists) this season. Karlsson could be getting the biggest boost in the lineup as he projects to play with Elias Pettersson.
When Tocchet suggested lineup changes, he mentioned multiple possibilities, including sitting Nils Hoglander.
The defense remained the same at morning skate, and Arturs Silovs looks like he will get his sixth straight start.
Oilers superstar Leon Draisaitl was a question mark going into game two, but head coach Kris Knoblauch shut down any questions ahead of game three. Adam Henrique will come out of the Oilers lineup for Connor Brown.
Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. PDT, and the Canucks carry a 3-0 record on the road during the 2024 postseason.
