McDavid has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury.

When the Vancouver Canucks take on the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday, a vital piece of the Oilers lineup won't be on the ice. According to Edmonton head coach Kris Knoblauch, McDavid will miss his third straight game with what the Oilers are calling a lower-body injury. The Canucks have done an excellent job neutralizing McDavid this season, holding the former Hart Trophy winner to three points in three games.
The absence of McDavid is massive, as Edmonton needs to win in regulation If they want a chance at the Pacific Division. The Oilers currently sit three points behind Vancouver with one game in hand. The addition of McDavid into the lineup tonight could have also provided Edmonton with a boost as the Oilers come into this game tired after losing to the Arizona Coyotes last night in overtime.
From a Canucks perspective, not having to face McDavid should help in their pursuit of a victory. That being said, the Oilers are still a dangerous team, and if Vancouver doesn't play a full 60 minutes, Edmonton could still walk away with a victory. Overall, the Canucks must ensure they take full advantage of this opportunity as they look to sweep the season series against the Oilers for the first time in almost a decade.
