Green was behind the bench for the Vancouver Canucks for over 300 games from 2017-2021.

Travis Green has found himself a new home. The former Vancouver Canucks coach was named the latest Ottawa Senators head coach on Tuesday, signing a deal through the 2027-28 season. In 2023-24, Green was an associate coach with the New Jersey Devils but ended the season as the head coach after the club decided to fire Lindy Ruff in March.
During his time in Vancouver, Green posted a record of 133-147-44. He helped guide the Canucks through the 2020 bubble playoffs and was instrumental in the development of Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser and Thatcher Demko. Green tenure in Vancouver ended on Dec. 6, 2021, when he and Jim Benning were let go after the team started the 2021-22 season 9-15-2.
Green will now be tasked with saving a young team that has struggled to gain stability over the past few seasons. Ottawa hasn't made the playoffs since 2017, yet it boasts an impressive lineup that includes Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stützle, Thomas Chabot, and Jake Sanderson. Green takes over for D.J. Smith, who, since 2019, posted a record of 131-154-32 in 317 games.
