Welcome to this edition of THN's Vancouver Canucks 2024-25 Report Card. This recurring 2025 off-season series features a deep dive into how each Canucks player performed last year. Today's article will focus on winger Jake DeBrusk, who finished the season with 48 points in 82 games.

DeBrusk had a successful first year in Vancouver. He set a new career high with 28 goals, while his 14 tallies on the power plays ranked tied for fifth in the NHL. DeBrusk was also one of two Canucks to play in all 82 games, joining former forward Teddy Blueger.

When analyzing DeBrusk's season, a few interesting trends stood out. Of his 28 goals, 19 came on the road, compared to just nine at home. DeBrusk's monthly scoring breakdown was also noticeably unbalanced as he scored 16 goals combined in November and December, compared to a total of 12 during the other five months of the season.

DeBrusk's most notable stretch of the season came in late November when he couldn't stop scoring. In the 10 games between November 23 and December 12, DeBrusk found the back of the net 11 times while also recording 13 points. DeBrusk's scoring streak clearly had an impact on the team, as the Canucks went 6-2-2 over the 10 game span.

As for DeBrusk's analytics, they were slightly below his career average. He posted an Expected Goals For Percentage of 48.38 at five-on-five, while his Wins Above Replacement ranked eighth on the team at 1.2. Ultimately, DeBrusk's analytics reveal that despite being consistently used in a matchup role, the 28-year-old was able to produce and provide value to the lineup.

It is safe to say that DeBrusk lived up to expectations during his first season with Vancouver. He led the team in goals and was two points tying his career high. As for a letter grade, DeBrusk gets a B for work during the 2024-25 season.
