The Vegas Golden Knights sit in third place in the Pacific Division and are playing their worst stretch of hockey this season but with 20 games left the Golden Knights still have an opportunity to make the playoffs and move up in the standings.

The Golden Knights' final 20 games of the season are broken down into 11 home games and nine road games. The Golden Knights have a 19-9-2 record when playing at T-Mobile Arena and a 14-13-5 record when playing anywhere else.

16 of the final 20 games come against Western Conference opponents. Eight are against the Pacific division and the other eight are against the Central division. The Golden Knights record against Pacific division teams is 11-6-2. Their record against the Central is 10-4-2.

Nine of the 20 games are against playoff teams, seven are against teams who are within 10 points of a playoff spot and the other four games are against teams on the brink of being eliminated from the playoffs.

The Golden Knights will play the Vancouver Canucks three times before the end of the season. Twice at home and once in Vancouver. The only other teams they play multiple times in the final stretch of games are the Minnesota Wild and the Seattle Kraken. They'll play both teams at home once and on the road once.

The Golden Knights are looking for a spark. They've struggled to keep the puck out of their night since the all-star break. The Golden Knights have given up 3.91 goals per game, a total of 47 goals in 12 games. Their record is reflected by the defensive struggles.

The Golden Knights have a lot of cap space to work with as the trade deadline approaches and all the reports have been claiming that the team would like to add the best winger available and possibly another forward in the bottom six. While making a move for a forward would help cover up some of the issues they have, the amount of pucks that end up in their net is a major issue.

The veterans on the blue line need to find a way to limit turnovers and put a stop to the mental breakdowns they have been giving up. Goaltenders Adin Hill and Logan Thompson have both seen their numbers take a dive and will need to find a way to get back into form before the Golden Knights season spirals out of control.
