Week 12 winner Ian Robinson also made his debut with the Kitchener Rangers, where he scored a goal in his first game. He has since officially signed an OHL Standard Player Agreement with Kitchener.
After a brief hiatus for the Christmas break, the weekly award is back, and another Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds prospect has been named the GOHL Prospect of the Week.
St. Catharines Falcons forward James Elliott has taken home the Week 15 honors after recording a goal and four assists in the team’s two victories this past weekend. A seventh-round draft pick (137th overall) in 2024 by the Greyhounds, he contributed to the Falcons’ massive victory over the top GOHL team, Cambridge Redhawks, recording three assists in their 4-3 win.
A native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Elliott played his post-draft season in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) with the Soo Thunderbirds. He finished eighth in rookie scoring with 31 points (14 goals, 17 assists) in 47 games and decided to make the jump to the GOHL this season to better his development.
The 5-foot-9, 175-pound forward has been a point-per-game player for the Falcons, ranking in a tie for fifth in team scoring with 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 31 games.
Elliott is the third Sault Ste. Marie prospect to win the GOHL Prospect of the week in the last six weeks, joining goaltender William Camputaro and forward Kalyn McQueen.
