The WHL's Western and Eastern Conference Finals kicked off on Friday night.

After a week off, the WHL's Western and Eastern Conference Finals got going on Friday night. By the end of the night, the last perfect team suffered their first loss of the postseason, while the other game required overtime. Here is a recap of all the action from April 26. 

Moose Jaw Warriors 4, Saskatoon Blades 3 (OT)
Series: Moose Jaw Leads 1-0

Brayden Yager was the hero of Game 1 as his eight of the playoffs sent the Moose Jaw Warriors home with a 4-3 overtime victory. Denton Mateychuk also had a strong game for the Warriors with two assists, while Atley Calvert chipped in with a goal and an assist. For the Saskatoon Blades, it was Egor Sidorov once again leading the way with two goals, while Tanner Molendyck finished the night with an assist and a game-high six shots on goal.

Prince George Cougars 5, Portland Winterhawks 0

Series: Prince George Leads 1-0

The Prince George Cougars were unstoppable in Game 1, handing the Portland Winterhawks their first loss of the 2024 postseason. Terik Parascak and Koehen Ziemmer each had a goal and an assist, while Riley Heidt chipped in with two assists. The story of the game, however, was Joshua Ravensbergen, who stopped all 33 shots he faced. Ravensbergen is now a perfect 8-0 in the postseason and has recorded a shutout in three of his last five games.
