Josephson and Iginla both had their seasons come to an end in the second round of the WHL Playoffs.

Team Canada has added two more WHLers to their 2024 U18 World Championship roster. After being eliminated from the 2024 WHL Playoffs, Ollie Josephson and Tij Iginla will head to Finland to compete for Canada at the tournament. With their additions, the WHL will now have nine players representing Team Canada at the tournament, which includes Gavin McKenna, Charlie Elick and Ryder Ritchie.

Josephson's season recently came to a close after the Red Deer Rebels were eliminated from the postseason by the Saskatoon Blades. The 2024 NHL Draft prospect had five points in nine playoff games, which followed a 47 points in 68 games campaign during the regular season. Josephson also finished the season as the 40th-ranked North American skater ahead of the Draft. 

As for Iginla, his season came to a close as the Kelowna Rockets lost in five games to the Prince George Cougars in the second round. A goal-scoring machine, Iginla had 47 goals in the regular season, followed by nine in 11 playoff games. Ranked ninth among North American Skaters, he should be one of the first WHLers called at this year's NHL Draft.

Team Canada will begin their tournament against Sweden on Thursday, April 25. They will then face Czechia on April 26, followed by Switzerland on April 28, and Kazakhstan on April 30. The semifinals will take place on May 4, while the Bronze and Gold Medal games are scheduled for May 5.
