Welcome to this edition of The Hockey News' WHL 2025-26 preview series. Leading up to the start of the 2025-26 season, THN's WHL team will preview each Western Hockey League organization and provide a prediction on how each team will perform during the campaign. Today's edition will focus on the Everett Silvertips, who were crowned regular-season champions during the 2024-25 season.

The Silvertips had a dominant 2024-25 season. Everett racked up 48 wins and won the  Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy with 104 points. The Silvertips also had an award winner on their roster as defenceman Landon DuPont was named CHL Rookie of the Year

Heading into the 2025-26 season, expectations will be high for Everett. They are bringing back some cornerstone pieces of their roster and have added some exciting import players who should thrive in the WHL. Ultimately, it will not be a surprise if the Silvertips once again are near the top of the Western Conference at the end of the year.

    Key Departures:

F Austin Roest, F Dominik Rymon, F Tyler MacKenzie, D Eric Jamieson, G Jesse Sanche

Everett will be without some talented players from last year's roster. Roest, Rymon and MacKenzie have all aged out, while co-captain Jamieson is headed to the NCAA. As for Sanche, who was the starting goaltender, he was selected in the expansion draft by the Penticton Vees, meaning that Raiden LeGall will be taking over as the starter this season.

    Key Additions:

D Jakub Seidl, F Matias Vanhanen, F Henri Ament, F Hunter Rudolph

The Silvertips will be adding two intriguing import players, Seidl and Vanhanen, to their organization this year. Seidl spent last season in Czechia's junior league, while Vanhanen spent his time in Finland. As for forwards Ament and Rudolph, both had successful years in the States during the 2024-25 season and are projected to be big parts of Everett's 2025-26 team.

    2025-26 X-Factor:

One player who could shine this year is Cole Temple. After being traded from the Regina Pats last season, the 18-year-old scored 13 goals and posted 30 points in 42 games with the Silvertips. With Temple projected to receive a bigger role next season, he should have no problem setting new career highs in 2025-26.

    2025-26 Prediction:

Everett once again has built a stacked roster and should be near the top of the league standings in 2025-26. DuPont, Carter BearJulius Miettinen and Tarin Smith are all expected to return, while younger players like Jaxon Pisani, Brek Liske, Rhys Jamieson and Caine Wilkie are projected to become key parts of the everyday lineup. Ultimately, the 2025-26 campaign should be a fun year for Silvertip fans.
