Catton was drafted by the Seattle Kraken eighth overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.

The Seattle Kraken have signed Spokane Chiefs forward Berkly Catton to a three-year entry-level contract. The deal was signed on the ice after Development Camp, making Catton the first WHL player from this year's draft to sign an ELC. Catton, who was selected eighth overall, was one of four chosen WHLers by the Kraken in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft and joins a deep prospect pool that includes Jagger Firkus, Lukas Dragicevic, Ryker Evans and Caden Price.
Catton had a year to remember, scoring 54 goals and adding 116 points in 68 regular season games. At the beginning of the season, he was captain of Team Canada at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he led the tournament in points with ten en route to a Gold Medal. Catton was also named to the US First All-Star Team after finishing fourth in scoring across the WHL.
