Sam Reinhart signed an eight-year extension with the Florida Panthers.
Happy Canada Day to Sam Reinhart. After scoring the Stanley Cup-winning goal, the former WHL star signed an eight-year contract extension with the Florida Panthers worth $69 million. The contract carries an AAV of $8.625 million and will keep Reinhart in Florida until 2032.
Before his NHL career, Reinhart had a memorable career in the WHL. Playing for the Kootenay ICE, Reinhart scored 120 goals and 319 points in 250 career regular-season games. In 2014, he was named WHL Player of the Year, as well as CHL Sportsman of the Year, after recording 105 points in 60 games.
The now 28-year-old has carried his success from the WHL to the NHL. In 696 games, he has scored 255 and recorded 538 points. In this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, Reinhart had 16 points in 24 games en route to the Panthers winning their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
