A new event has been announced that will feature the top CHL prospects taking on the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. The CHL USA Prospects Challenge will see NHL Draft-eligible prospects from the WHL, OHL and QMJHL face off against those from USA Hockey's NTDP in a two-game series. The first edition of this event will take place in November, and more details will be released at a later date.

The CHL USA Prospects Challenge is an excellent opportunity for the top first-year draft eligible to showcase their skills in front of NHL GMs and scouts. It will also give fans a better look at prospects in the USA Hockey National Team Development Program and shine a spotlight on players across the CHL. According to the press release, "Players for the CHL team will be provided by NHL Central Scouting as selected by the NHL's 32 clubs, and much like other national events in the CHL, the hosting duties of the CHL USA Prospects Challenge will rotate between the CHL's three-member league markets each year."

This year's event should feature plenty of talent from the WHL. Some of the top prospects expected to participate are Roger McQueen of the Brandon Wheat Kings, Cole Reschny of the Victoria Royals, Jordan Gavin of the Tri-City Americans and Benjamin Kindel of the Calgary Hitmen. Fans can head to chl.ca/prospectschallenge to sign up for more information about the event.
