The Boston Bruins made multiple roster moves on March 5. The Original Six club recalled Patrick Brown, Riley Tufte, Ian Mitchell, and Vinni Lettieri (under emergency conditions) from the Providence Bruins. They also sent Georgii Merkulov and Jeffrey Viel back down to Providence.
The Bruins are staying busy, as they now have placed defenseman Jordan Oesterle on waivers.
This Oesterle waiver placement comes right after the 32-year-old defenseman played his first game with the Bruins in over a month against the Nashville Predators on March 4. During that matchup, he scored his first goal with Boston and had a plus-1 rating, but this was not enough for him to avoid being placed on waivers.
Oesterle was first recalled by the Bruins back in November, following Hampus Lindholm's injury. In 22 games with Boston this season, he has one goal, six points, and a plus-3 rating. Down with Providence this campaign, he has three goals and eight points in nine games.
Teams looking for some extra defensive depth could consider taking a shot on Oesterle. However, if he clears waivers, he will be heading back to Providence.
