The Boston Bruins have made a roster move, assigning defenseman Ian Mitchell to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Providence Bruins.

Mitchell, 26, was recalled from Providence by the Bruins back on Feb. 28. Following this call-up, he appeared in two games with Boston, posting zero points, two blocks, and a minus-1 rating. Now, he is heading right back to Providence.

Before his recent call-up, Mitchell spent the entirety of this season with Providence. In 46 games with the AHL squad this campaign, he has four goals, 27 points, and a plus-11 rating.

In 97 career NHL games split between the Chicago Blackhawks and Bruins, Mitchell has four goals, 18 points, 32 penalty minutes, and a minus-16 rating.
