While speaking to reporters, Boston Bruins head coach Joe Sacco shared that forward Mark Kastelic has returned home and will miss the rest of the club's ongoing road trip due to an upper-body injury.
"Kasty went back to Boston," Sacco said. "He's not going to be here for the remainder of the trip. He's out right now with an upper-body injury. We'll know more when we get back from the trip."
Kastelic, 26, was acquired by the Bruins this past off-season from the Ottawa Senators as a part of the Linus Ullmark trade. Since then, he has emerged as a key part of the Bruins' bottom six because of his physicality and toughness. Thus, the Bruins will certainly miss him while he's out for at least the remainder of their road trip.
In 61 games this season, Kastelic has scored five goals and set new career highs with nine assists, 14 points, 106 penalty minutes, and 218 hits. Due to Kastelic's contributions, the Bruins signed him to a three-year, $4.7 million contract extension in January.
