This Boston Bruins forward has a new big role.

The Providence Bruins have named Patrick Brown as their 27th captain in franchise history.
Brown, 32, signed a two-year, $1.6 million contract with the Bruins during the 2023 NHL off-season. In 11 games for Boston this past season, the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native had one assist, 25 hits, and a minus-3 rating.

However, Brown spent the majority of this past season with Providence. In 42 games with the AHL squad, he had 11 goals to go along with 32 points. Overall, he not only proved to be a solid offensive contributor but also was a strong veteran presence in their room. Because of this, it is not too surprising to see him get the 'C' in Providence.
It will be very interesting to see how Brown performs with Providence after being named their captain from here.
