The Boston Bruins secured a 5-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche last night (Oct. 16). This was undoubtedly needed, as they just lost to the Florida Panthers in their last contest.

Nikita Zadorov was one of the many bright spots from the Bruins' win. The 6-foot-6 defenseman recorded an assist and got into his first fight as a Bruin. He dropped the gloves with Avalanche rookie Matthew Stienburg after the latter hit Matthew Poitras.

Overall, it was another strong game from Zadorov, and he is only continuing to build on his strong start with the Original Six club. In five games with the Bruins thus far, the hulking defender has three assists, 13 hits, 17 penalty minutes, and a plus-2 rating. Overall, he has given the Bruins a bit of everything, and his presence is felt because of it.

When the Bruins signed Zadorov to his six-year, $30 million contract this past off-season, the expectation was that he would provide the Bruins with plenty of physicality, steady defensive play, and a bit of offense from the point. So far, he has been delivering just that, and it will be fascinating to see how well he keeps this up from here.
