The Boston Bruins secured a big 5-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday (Oct. 16) night. It was precisely the kind of game they needed after losing to the Florida Panthers in their previous matchup.
While this contest was great for the Bruins, it also gave them a scary moment. Captain Brad Marchand left the game late in the second period after colliding with Avalanche star Mikko Rantanen. He also missed the first six minutes of the third period but returned to the matchup.
Brad MarchandFollowing the game, Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery provided an update on Marchand that certainly will ease the stress of Bruins fans. Here is what he said about No. 63:
"Oh, Brad's fine, yeah. Just a spasm."
It is great to hear that Marchand did not suffer anything significant on the play. The veteran winger is a huge part of the Bruins' roster, so they need him to be healthy. In five games so far this season, the 2006 third-round pick has three assists.
