This Bruins prospect is expected to be out for a while.
Boston Bruins' top prospect, Fabian Lysell, has had a strong season with the Providence Bruins. In 56 games, the 2021 first-round pick has 15 goals to go along with 50 points. He also has heated up lately, posting seven assists over his last five games. Unfortunately, his hot streak will now be put on pause, potentially for a good chunk of time.
Lysell, 21, suffered an upper-body injury against the Charlotte Checkers on March 23 after falling and colliding into the boards. The skilled winger needed assistance to get off the ice, which naturally concerned fans. Now, we have a better idea of the severity of the youngster's injury, and it is not good.
While speaking with reporters, Providence head coach Ryan Mougenal provided this update regarding Lysell's injury: "He's gonna miss, probably, significant time, I would imagine. It's disappointing. He was starting to play really well."
This is brutal news for Lysell, as the top prospect has been making a real case for a call-up with his outstanding play. However, with this update, he is likely to be off of the ice for quite some time.
