This former Boston Bruins prospect is attending another NHL team's rookie camp.

During the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, the Boston Bruins selected goalie Reid Dyck with the 183th overall pick. However, after not coming to terms on an entry-level contract, the Bruins lost Dyck's signing rights in June, and he became an unrestricted free agent.
Since then, Dyck has not received a contract from another team, but he may be another step closer to changing that. The Utah Hockey Club announced that Dyck will be one of three goalies at their rookie camp this week.
Dyck is coming off a strong season with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In 35 games, he posted a 25-7-2 record, a .911 save percentage (SV%), and a 2.70 goals-against (GAA). These are the best numbers that the Winkler, Manitoba native has put together at the junior level.
Some were surprised that the Bruins did not agree to a deal with Dyck after his solid year in the WHL. However, the Bruins have Jeremy Swayman, Brandon Bussi, Michael DiPietro, and Joonas Korpisalo, so their goalie depth is quite solid.
It will be interesting to see if Dyck can earn himself a contract of some kind with Utah from here. If he impresses at their rookie camp, he certainly could.
