Now that it is September, hockey season is just about here. Many Boston Bruins players returned to the ice on Tuesday (Sept. 3), as the club had captains' practice. Several Boston players and prospects attended the practice but so did a former Bruin.

Former Bruins forward Chris Wagner skated with many of his old teammates at the club's captains' practice. However, while the Walpole, Massachusetts native was back on Bruins ice, he was in his Colorado Avalanche practice gear, of course.

Wagner, 33, signed a one-year, $775,000 contract extension with the Avalanche back in April before the 2023-24 season was completed. With this, he will again be a solid part of the Avalanche's forward depth this upcoming campaign.

Wagner appeared in 13 games for the Avalanche last season, recording one goal, one assist, 30 hits, and a plus-3 rating. He also had eight goals and 14 points in 21 games down in the AHL with the Colorado Eagles.

While Wagner will still play for the Avalanche this season, it was nice to see him once again skating with many of his old teammates at Warrior Arena. This shows that he is still well-respected by his former club, which is understandable given how hard of a worker he was during his stint in Boston.

In five seasons with the Bruins from 2018-19 to 2022-23, Wagner had 20 goals, 34 points, 122 penalty minutes, and 531 hits in 186 games.
