Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos released his first off-season trade board for Sportsnet, and one player listed on there who the Boston Bruins should seriously consider making a major push for is Colorado Avalanche forward Martin Necas.

"There was a sense Necas wasn’t overly thrilled with his experience in Colorado and that he wants to explore other options," Kypreos reported

Necas Would Be Massive Addition For Bruins

When noting that the Bruins desperately need help in their top six, Necas is certainly a player who should grab their attention. The 2017 first-round pick just put together an incredible 2024-25 season, scoring 27 goals and setting new career highs with 56 assists and 83 points in 79 games split between the Carolina Hurricanes and Avalanche. This kind of offense would be massive for the Bruins to bring in.

At 26 years old, Necas is also right in his prime and could be a wonderful fit on the retooling Bruins. This is especially so when noting that he can play on the wing and center. Thus, he could boost the Bruins' top six and power play in more ways than one.

If the Bruins brought in Necas, he could fit beautifully on a line with superstar forward David Pastrnak. Those two could make serious magic together with their high level of offensive skill, especially when noting that they already have played together internationally for Czechia.

Nevertheless, if the Avalanche make Necas available, the Bruins should seriously consider entering the sweepstakes. He would be a big pickup for a Bruins club looking to get back to being a playoff team.
