This former Sabre had surgery.

OTP - Do The Sabres Need A Different Type Of Head Coach?

Leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline, former Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen created chatter as a trade candidate. However, those talks came to an abrupt end when the right-shot defenseman suffered an upper-body injury in early February that ended his season.

The Philadelphia Flyers have now provided an update on Ristolainen. The Metropolitan Division club announced that Ristolainen had surgery on a ruptured triceps tendon that is expected to sideline him for three months. With that, they noted that he will likely be good to go for training camp.

Ristolainen, 29, appeared in 31 games this season with the Flyers, posting one goal, four points, and 56 hits. While his offense was down this season, he garnered interest around the league because of his physicality and improved defensive play.
