OTP - Sabres Need To Bounce Back From A Slow Start

A former Buffalo Sabres forward is available for the taking, as the Tampa Bay Lightning have placed Conor Sheary on waivers.

Sheary is under contract until the end of the 2025-26 season and carries a $2 million cap hit.

Sheary struggled to find his fit during his first season with the Lightning in 2023-24, posting four goals, 11 assists, and a minus-3 rating in 57 games. He also has zero points in three games for the Lightning so far this season. Now, he is on waivers.

Sheary spent the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons with the Sabres, where he had 23 goals and 53 points in 133 games. His time with the Sabres ended in Feb. 2020 when he was traded back to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Dominik Kahun.
