The Buffalo Sabres are preparing to part ways with several players this offseason. One of them is forward Victor Olofsson, as both the team and the pending UFA are ready to move on.

Seeing Olofsson looking for a fresh start is not surprising. He was in the rumor mill since the 2023 NHL Offseason and saw his playing time drop off immensely this season. Along with that, it was a down year for him, as he posted just seven goals and eight assists in 51 games.

While Olofsson had a down year, there still could be interest in him, as he's a three-time 20-goal scorer and has hit the 40-point mark three times. Because of this, let's discuss three teams who could look to add him this offseason.

    Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals stand out as a club that could take a chance on Olofsson. They need scoring badly in their top nine, and if Olofsson finds his old form, he would give them just that.

On a cheap one-year deal, Olofsson could be a solid addition for the Caps. He would also be an option for their second power-play unit.

    Seattle Kraken

The Seattle Kraken took a step back this season and missed the playoffs. Their offense clearly needs more scoring, so they are another team that could consider taking a flier on Olofsson.

If Olofsson finds his previous 20-goal form, he could flirt with being a middle-six forward on their roster. At worst, he would give them more offense in a bottom-six role, which is a real necessity for them.

    Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks are rebuilding and are unlikely to be massive buyers this offseason. However, they should still look to add more scoring to their roster, especially for rookie sensation Connor Bedard.

While Olofsson would not be a massive splash for Chicago, he could find his game having a bigger role on the club.
