It is trade deadline day, so we are set to see many moves around the NHL. The Buffalo Sabres have some pending UFAs who could get traded, and one of them is forward Victor Olofsson.
Olofsson, 28, is being shopped by the Sabres, and it appears that he is generating more interest as we inch closer to the final hour of trading. Per The Fourth Period, the Winnipeg Jets are now linked to the skilled winger.
It has already been established that the Colorado Avalanche have been in the mix for Olofsson, and it makes sense, as they could use some more secondary scoring. Yet, now they have some competition, with the Jets expressing interest.
Victor OlofssonOlofsson would welcome a change of scenery. The Sabres have dressed him in only seven games since January. He could be a decent addition to a club like the Jets, especially if he heats back up. Keep in mind, he has had at least 20 goals and 40 points in three NHL seasons.
We must wait and see if Winnipeg and Buffalo strike a deal from here.
